a well timed promotion
Sunday, December 02, 2007,
after missing the last promotion by starhub, the offer had been resurfaced again. this time, its a little smaller than the previous promotion.. 20 inch lcd tv, packed with hd ready features. what's more, i could connect one of these to my com.. wahaha. no more staring at a 15 inch monitor. say good bye to eye strains.. its high time i let them enjoy the benefits of bigger screen.
for every freebies, there comes a string attached. for starhub, its stated rather clearly, minimum 2 years subscription of $44.94/month and new applicants only.. going by the rules, i don't fit the bill for the second criteria. so what's up with this new applicants rule, when my contract had already expired half a year ago and i am not eligible for this lcd tv freebie should i recontract? clearly, its for their own benefit. less freebie given away, less cost, more profit to be made out of it. of course, they run a higher risk of losing the customers. they dont really value loyal customers. this is their system.
for every system, there is a loophole. (trust me on that. just need to look hard enough.)
the following is the solution to this contract problem. well, i am not the first one to think of this, which can been seen in the long queue in the starhub services centre. maciam everyone there is signing for the new tv..haha.
according to the rules, only customer who terminate before 16th november are eligible for this freebie. the only way around it is to use another name and address to sign up, transferring the contract under your name for a $20 fee. time to pay your friendly relatives a visit..haha. of course there is another solution that is you can head down to the shop and KP the managers over there till the cows come home. (wonder whether this would work?).
what would be the outcome? is this claim valid? what matters most is would i be able to get hold of that lcd hd tv.. stay tuned for the next episode of "the loophole exposed". whahaha.
ps. there also other promotions like the free lappy and desktop, and there is a ready market for it, which means a quick cash of $600 to be made out of it. well, thats if you intend to sell it off right from the beginning.
