as you can see from the picture, this is is the first car that i got my hands behind the wheels. its a semi-auto car with 5 gears. haha. by now, i think most of you would be thinking since when kevin owns a car?? well, i don't. this car was rented, roughly about $70 per day, exclusive of the petrol.

lucky my brother wasn't free to pick me up during the afternoon, i wondered how i would have survived with the heavy traffic. safe journey on public transport. heng heng. apparently, i left behind my race bib and chip at the hostel, prior to the race tomorrow. its the forgetful part of me that enable me to drive the car on the 2 way trip from home to hostel. haha.

with 2 lives (my brother and his girlfriend) on my hands, i drove the car, beginning my maiden voyage on the expressway. throughout the journey, my brother took up the role as the driving instructor and navigator, scrutinizing my every movement. lol.

the basics kind of slipped off my mind, clearing the hump at 30km/h, negotiating a right turn at 35km/h, cutting into others lane (kenna high beamed by the taxi driver). eventually, after a refresher course, i kind of get the hang of it. but definitely need more practise.

know the basics, look far ahead, plan in advance, foresee any obstacles.

ps. thanks for being my passengers, though it seems like its a ride from hell. lol. buckled up, here we go again. long term goal: be a safe driver, don't rush things. till then, i doubt i would have the chance to send anyone home yet. i promise to drive slowly and safely. haha.

warning letter
Saturday, October 27, 2007,

for the second time already, i received a complaint letter from the prof. its actually directed to block 42, level 3. to address the problem of smoking in hall premises and unsocial behaviour "excessive noise", threatening to evict people if they choose to violate the SAO rules.

the problem lies with the 2 groups of residents. the smoking guns from india, living next to the staircase and the vietnamese residents who party into the late night. these problem had persisted for very long period of time, so bad that the high tolerance resident started to rain down complaints on them.

as my new roomie, paulus suggested a more passive solution. thats to get everyone to knock on their door to remind them every now and then. lol. this definitely going to help drill in the concept of adequate hall social behaviour, driving them crazy if they don't succumb to the rules. anyway, i feel that eviction isn't all that a wonderful solution to this problem, it just create my problem for others.

another interesting sight which i suppose many would consider it a bit outrageous, girl wrapped in towel only, walking back from her room from the toilet. according to my friend who stays over at hall 11, he too witnessed these incidents before, saying its quite common. so bold for what?
although it might be a treat for most guys, but i still feel its inadequate to be walking around wrapped in towel, especially for girls. wear some clothes lah.

"respect" is the word.

really busy these days
Friday, October 19, 2007,

sian to the core.

had been slogging real hard. not much time for breather. it got to the point that i had to skip one of the floorball training, just to complete one of my project. it makes me feel guilty, in a way. of course, i got a reward for not turning up for training, thats a warning from the vice captain, pinky. its kind of surprised that the coach actually remembered that i had missed 2 training in total. just one more, would be sufficient to strike me out of the ivp eligible list. i..ermm.. hais.. thing shouldn't had became like this if i put in more effort.

the school work really piling up, with the exam coming in 3 weeks time, things had to be prioritised. stop slacking and start mugging.

its NOW or NEVER.

I had made my choice, so it time to put it into action.

for better grades. wahaha.

ps. sorry guys, didn't really chance to meet up with all of you. really tied down with projects and report. i promised to meet up after the exam. just bear with me for a little longer. see all of you real soon. take care.

jia you for the exam.

sixty minute artist
Saturday, October 06, 2007,

i stumbled upon this blog site while i was performing some maintenance on the computer. this featured blog site by blogspot, just located beneath the log in option.
my first impression of this blog, not bad. the paintings done by the artist looks nice, though i don't really know how to appreciate oil pastel painting. (never had the chance to do that either.) a quick browse through the page would review details, that could prove to be of some help to anyone running out of ideas. Anyway what i really want to point out is the message behind this blog. i don't think you need to look hard to get that message that this artist is trying to send across. (its actually found on the side bar. haha.)

"it is about how to turn consistent effort into something worth looking at."

don't you think this is inspirational?

maybe for me, i should start by doing something that is manageable. well, hopefully i could come out with a master piece at the very end. let those creative juice flows.

ps. this is address to that blog, i am talking about.
